Listed is a ready-to-play beautiful Tokai (BIG) baby grand piano made in Hamamatsu, Japan, the same city where Yamaha and Kawai are manufactured. This piano has a wonderfully bright sound and a full, powerful low end due to its near-grand size.
This piano lived most of its life as a furniture piece in the seller's grandmother’s living room. It was purchased in the early 80s and tuned regularly throughout its life so relatives could play it on holidays. It was always kept in a climate and humidity controlled home.
The piano holds a tune and has been tuned regularly throughout its life. A piano tech has tested, tuned and cleaned this piano multiple times in the past 5 years. No sticky or uneven keys. All the pedals work.
Has mild aesthetic blemish on the front right corner where the previous owner accidentally ran into it in her power chair. You can barely notice it in the photos or in person unless you get close.

Description: GROTRIAN PIANO CO., Est. 1835, as a small piano manufacturing company by Heinrich Engelhard Steinweg and then passed to his son Theodor Steinweg. Georg Friedrich Karl Grotrian, entered the company as a partner in 1854. G. F. K. Grotrian was born in 1803, in Sch6ningen near Braunschweig, Germany. As early as 1830 G. F. K. Grotrian operated a music business that also built and sold pianos in Moscow.Modern Grotrian-Steinweg pianos are rated by Larry Fine as Grade 1A, among the highest quality and satisfaction, on par with Hamburg Steinways, Faziolis and Bösendorfers. The treble of Grotrian pianos has extraordinary sustaining characteristics. It also has a pronounced sound of attack, subtle and delicate. The tenor is darker than many other brands. The bass can be powerful, but without stridency. Overall, Grotrian pianos have a unique, expressive sound and are a pleasure to play.

Description: There are Yamaha & Kawai pianos that are refurbished in Japan by the Doremi company (doremi-piano.com) that are warehaoused in Kentucky. They vary in age from the 1970s into the 2000s. The updated stock list comes bi-weekly with numerous models available all in the polished ebony finish. The restoration work is exquisite and establiushes each piano to as-new condition. Prices vary with the actual age of the piano and are generally about half the cost of the new pianos from a Yamaha or Kawai dealer. We have sold them for 20+ years and never had a complaint.
